The three-day public holiday in China has drawn a substantial amount of visitors to the horticulture expo, long queues of eager tourists can be seen outside many pavilions.

YANG CHENGXI BEIJING "At the China pavilion you can not only find exhibitors from different provinces but also ones from academic institutions."
ZHANG JIXIAO, PROFESSOR BEIJING FORESTRY UNIVERSITY "We are exhibiting the achievements of our university, and the 17 years of research outcomes of our National Flower Center."
Some universities are showing technologies such as germ-free cultivation, and plant hybrids grown from artificial sunlight. The idea is to transcend environmental limits - growing more with less.
ZHANG JIXIAO, PROFESSOR BEIJING FORESTRY UNIVERSITY "One of the major assignments for my students is to exhibit their projects here, to show the visitors how to combine green designs with life."
