South Korea is to allocate over 2.6 million dollars to cover the cost of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's Olympic delegation.
The Unification Ministry said the funds will pay for food, accommodation and other expenses of the North's over 400 supporting personnel. Hosting the high-level officials including Kim Yo Jong, the sister of DPRK leader Kim Jong Un, will be paid for separately. South Korea invited the DPRK to the Olympics to defuse months of tension over Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs.
