The Chinese Foreign Ministry has held a press conference on China's foreign policy priorities in 2018. With Beijing looking to take the lead in "building a global community with a shared future for mankind", Foreign Minister Wang Yi said 2018 promised to be a big year for China on the diplomatic front, and highlighted four major events the country would be hosting.
Next month, the annual Bo'ao Forum for Asia -- which aims to promote global economic cooperation -- will run in Hainan province under the theme "Reform & Opening Up".
Two months later, the leaders of the eight member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will meet in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao.
In a bid to further promote the Belt & Road Initiative around the world, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will be held in Beijing in September.
And, in November, Shanghai will host the first "China International Import Expo", an event which aims to give global exporters a better look at the Chinese market.
