At least 11 people were killed and 26 injured in a car bomb explosion at a busy market area in eastern Baghdad on Monday, AFP reported citing security officials and medical sources.
The blast took place at around 10:30 a.m. local time (0730 GMT) as a booby-trapped car detonated near the electricity office at Jamila wholesale market in Baghdad's Shiite district of Sadr City.
The causalities have been evacuated to hospitals. Members of Iraq's security forces were among the victims.
The bombing comes as the Iraqi forces are in the final stages of recapturing the northern town of Tal Afar from ISIL.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
