The Chinese dance drama "Confucius" opened this week at New York’s Lincoln Center.
The ballet, performed by the China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater, features traditional Chinese music and elaborate costumes.
It tells the story of the legendary scholar's journey through the kingdoms of Zhou Dynasty China (about 2,500 years ago).
Choreographed by Kong Dexin, a descendant of Confucius himself, the dance drama had its world premiere in Beijing in 2013, and has since played throughout Asia, Europe, and Australia.
