Earlier we talked to our correspondent Jack Barton on the southern side of the Demilitarized Zone. He said the meeting will unleash a revolution on the Korean Peninsula.
JACK BARTON DMZ "A lot of attention is often paid on the tensions, the military tensions between the DPRK and the US. But of course in real terms if there is a deal the denuclearization deal and the peace deal, the real effect will be felt here on the Korean Peninsula, both in North and South, in terms of the military, diplomatic, economic ties. It will really unleash a revolution here on the Korean Peninsula in terms of inter-Korean cooperation. So even if Moon Jae-in, he delayed his cabinet meeting by ten minutes so that he and his cabinet could watch the historic hand-shake. And he said that he also had a sleepless night along with the rest of the nation, waiting for this meeting that he could usher an era of a peace on a nuclear-free Korean peninsular. People here are much more realistic about the time frame, they expect this will take at least 10-15 years. The president expects the same. Of course the DMZ, you can see behind me. one day it could be gone that is certainly the high expectation of the Korean people have as this meeting continues in Singapore."
