World War II film 'Dunkirk' remains at top of North American box office

Warner Bros.' presentation of Christopher Nolan's epic war film "Dunkirk" continues to lead the North American box office, taking an estimated 28.13 million US dollars in its second weekend.
The World War II drama earned more than 102 million US dollars in North America after just 10 days in theaters.

The Emoji Movie, from Sony Animated Pictures, opened in the second place. 
"The film took advantage of a lack of family fare in the marketplace for a solid weekend performance despite the critics," movie analyst Paul Dergarabedian from comScore told Xinhua. 
The American 3D computer-animated comedy film directed by Tony Leondis stars the voice of Anna Faris, James Corden, TJ Miller, Patrick Stewart and Sofia Vergara, among others.
Universal's "Girls Trip" moved to the third place, taking 20.08 million US dollars in its second weekend.
Focus Feature's "Atomic Blonde" landed in the fourth place while Sony's "Spider-Man: Homecoming" climbed into fifth place.
