Tokyo Housing: Micro apartments become a new trend
[]
And now - Trending Asia.
Tokyo's expensive housing market is making it hard for many residents to rent an affordable home. Recently, a new type of micro apartment has become popular among young tenants. The nine-square-meter apartment contains a living room, a bathroom, a kitchen and an attic. To make the small space look bigger, windows are placed near the ceiling. The rent is a little more than 600 US dollars a month. That's twenty percent less than the average price in downtown Tokyo.
