Waving their hands, South Korean spectators gave them a warm welcome. Some spectators also tried to move closer to the squad to take photos. Members from the DPRK cheering squad responded with smiles. Earlier they seldom said a word when facing the press, but this time they gave their best wishes to the unified team.

The historic women's ice hockey match was also attended by South Korean President Moon Jae-in, as well as high-ranking DPRK officials. The Korean Unification flag, a blue Korean Peninsula against a white background symbolizes the rapprochement between the North and South.
