Thousands pay last respects to Congolese opposition leader

Thousands of mourners and officials gathered in Brussels to pay their respects to the Democratic Republic of Congo’s late veteran opposition leader, Etienne Tshisekedi.
The 84-year-old died in Belgium, where he went last week for medical checks. His death comes at a sensitive time for the DRC. Tshisekedi was due to head a transitional council under a deal for President Joseph Kabila to step down.
