Vietnam's communist authorities are targeting a rise in life expectancy to 75 years by 2030 from the current 73.4 years.
This forecast is contained in a resolution issued by the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.
The country's General Department of Population and Family Planning also said on Wednesday that Vietnamese are expected to achieve, on average, at least 68 years of healthy life by 2030.
Vietnam also plans to have its human development index – the composite index of lifespan, education, and per capita income indicators – in the top four of Southeast Asian countries by then.
