Russia has vetoed a US resolution on Syria at the UN Security Council's emergency meeting. That would have created an expert team to determine responsibility for the alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria's Douma. Russia came up with its own resolution, but failed to get enough support. CGTN's Nick Harper has more from the UN headquarters in New York.
NIKKI HALEY PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF US TO UN "And when the people of Douma along with the rest of the international community looked to this Council to act, one country stood in the way."
VASSILY NEBENZIA PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO UN "If you took the decision to carry out an illegal military adventure - and we do hope that you will come to your senses - well then you will have to bear the responsibility for it yourselves."
