China's Ambassador to Mexico wrote an editorial in a Mexican newspaper about the China-US trade tensions.

Qiu Xiaoqi called America's complaints unreasonable. He said trade between the two countries is based on mutual benefit and trust and that talks should solve the dispute. He added China doesn't want a trade war, but is not afraid of one and will protect its interests "at any cost". The Ambassador also said the US's protectionism violates WTO rules and that China has firmly supported multilateralism and free trade.
