Regions across China have been experiencing extreme weather conditions. From hailstones to seafood falling from the sky, these weather anomalies have damaged property and affected day to day life. CGTN's Zheng Chunying has more.
It usually rains cats and dogs. But people in Qingdao are seeing seafood falling from the sky, coupled with strong winds and thunderstorms.
Large swathes of land across China are drenched.
As torrential rain hit many regions, such as Beijing, Henan, Hebei, and Shandong provinces, triggering the risk of flooding and landslides. And things are worse in north-west China. Large hailstones have damaged plenty of cars and flattened crops.
Provinces like Gansu were pummelled with hailstones, some measuring more than 40 millimeters in diameter.
According to weather authorities, the northeastern part of China, such as Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning Provinces will continue to see heavy rains.
The public is advised to stay indoors and protect their property.
Local governments are also urged to cut off potentially hazardous external power sources, and to prevent floods, landslides and mudslides in vulnerable regions.
