[]
An update to the story involving the Russian curler caught for doping. Alexander Krushelnitsky won bronze in mixed-doubles curling, but was found to have the banned substance meldonium in his system. The athlete has denied taking the drug. And his country's curling president is sticking up for his athlete, and believes the only way that the substance got into Krushelnitsky's system was through sabotage, by someone secretly adding it to his food or drink.
DMITRY SVISHCHEV RUSSIA CURLING PRESIDENT "Roughly speaking, somebody poured or secretly added the substance. But the fact is - it happened. And now we need to prove to the court that a one-time dose, - this has been proven - a one-time dose of a pill or a liquid, will not make any difference for the athlete, especially in such a sport as curling, where you don't need any doping or meldonium or mildronate, as they also call it."
