The win – Su's second since Berlin just over a week ago – is good enough for him to win a medal in the World Indoor Championships next month. American sprinter Trayvon Bromell won the event's title with the same result in 2016.
Su was a 100m semi-finalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He reached the 100m final at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing with a time of 9.99 seconds to become the first Chinese athlete to dip below the 10-second mark. Along with Mo Youxue, Xie Zhenye and Zhang Peimeng, Su also collected a historic silver medal in the men's 4x100m final with a time of 38.01 seconds.
