China will remove tariffs on cancer drugs beginning May 1st. A State Council meeting, chaired by Premier Li Keqiang, made the announcement. Analysts say it'll make it easier to get medical services and ease cost for patients. A report from the meeting also shows China will strengthen intellectual property rights' protection of drugs.
By 2020, it's estimated there will be five million cancer cases in the country - nearly a third of all cases worldwide. Data indicates that in the next ten years, China's cancer drug market scale should have great potential.
