In tonight's action, and in arguably the pick of the round, it's an all Premier League encounter between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield. The two teams have been praised for their attacking football this season and while the Pep Guardiola's side might be on the verge of winning England's top flight, Jurgen Klopp's boys have shown they can defeat anyone on their day. Mike Fox has more.
A five-nil victory at the Etihad was followed by a 4-3 defeat at Anfield. Manchester City's games against Liverpool have certainly entertained this season, so while it sounds like an old cliche, in a game where one of England's heavyweights is going out, fans and pundits are predicting football will be the winner when these two meet.
The big news coming out of the city camp is that Sergio Aguero will miss the clash after failing to recover from a knee injury picked up against the win over Chelsea on March 4th.
On the red side of things, Joel Matip is missing for the rest of the season following a back injury sustained in Saturday's victory over Crystal Palace. There's clear respect between the two bosses, and fans can expect fireworks come kickoff.
Elsewhere Roma travel to the Nou Camp to take on Barcelona with Lionel Messi expected to re-take his place in the starting 11. The star forward hasn't started the last three games becuase of a muscle problem. But even with his star man back, coach Ernesto Valverde is still cautions of Roma's potential threat.
ERNESTO VALVERDE BARCELONA COACH "After watching Roma in the group stage, it's not a big surprise they have got here because they played very well. Also, when you watch their games in the Italian League, I'm not surprised they are in the quarter-finals as they are a great team playing well, attacking well, and also defending together. They are hard to beat when they are compact, and we will have great difficulty breaking them down. All four of the quarter-final matches look very attractive and we hope to make it through to the next stage."
Sergio Busuets could return after shaking off a broken foot suffered in the last round against Chelsea while Roma have midfielder Cengiz Under sidelined with a knock suffered on international duty with Turkey, making their task not to be gobbled up by Barca all the more harder. Mike Fox CGTN.
