A 79-year-old man fainted after hitting his head on the edge of an escalator. After shutting down the escalator, passersby helped him into a wheelchair. When he regained consciousness, the man insisted on continuing his shopping, saying his wife was in bed and needed his care. He was eventually able to finish shopping with assistance from the store’s staff members. As of 2017, more than 200 million Chinese are over 60, meaning China will have to deal with its rapidly aging population in the coming years.
