China's Yu Zaiqing is re-elected as vice president of the International Olympic Committee at the 132nd IOC session in PyeongChang. He along with Turkey's Ugur Erdener, a member of Istanbul's failed 2020 Games bid, were voted onto the Executive Board.
The 66-year-old Yu, who was the vice president of the Beijing 2022 Games, has been an IOC member since 2000 and returned for a second vice presidential stint after serving a four-year term between 2008 and 2012.
"Trust me that I will do my best and never let you down as always I would like to continue to make further efforts," Yu said.
Yu Zaiqing had served eight years on the IOC Executive Board from 2004 to 2012. He was an executive vice-president of the Organizing Committee for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He is now also a member of the coordination for the 2018 PyeongChang Games and a member of the coordinating committee for the 2020 Tokyo Games.
