To also mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties, China Media Group -- CGTN's parent company -- held several events in Saint Petersburg and struck a deal with a Russian foundation to boost exposure. CGTN reporter, Wang Hui, tells us what it's about.

China Media Group and Russia's Roscongress Foundation signed a strategic agreement Friday morning at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Roscongress Foundation is a non-financial development institution and major organizer of international conventions, exhibitions, and public events, the agreement aims to use the media's strengths in diplomacy, and enhance cooperation between the two sides.

This is an important moment, as China's most important media outlet is penning the deal with Roscongress Foundation."

The CMG has also released its micro-video series, Twin Cities of China and Russia. The videos use animation to show the interaction between the twin cities of the two countries. They will be aired on the two countries' national TV stations, official websites, and social media platforms around Oct. 1st, China's National Day. Shen has also visited the exhibition area of CGTN, or China Global Television Network. It was launched at the end of 2016.
