May 19th marks the 29th annual National Disabled Aiding Day. This year, China's State Council Information Office invited a blind woman, a man with no arms, and a man with polio to share their life stories with media and distinguished guests. The three spoke about their struggles, but also how those challenges have made them stronger. Another guest, well known for assisting disabled persons shared his story of helping such people integrate into society and live life to its fullest. Across China, over 85 million people have at least one disability, that's 7 percent of the population. This year, National Disabled Aiding Day aims to promote self-reliance and strength, while persuading society to aid disabled individuals.
