The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warned on Sunday that more than 600,000 people are expected to contract cholera in Yemen this year, as a direct consequence of the ongoing conflict.
The ICRC said in a statement that one in every 45 Yemenis will have contracted the disease by December as the conflict has brought the country's "whole health system to its knees."
The war is being waged by Saudi Arabia and its allies in support of a Saudi-backed government against a rival Iran-backed Houthi government.
It has killed thousands of people and displaced millions of others, leaving many with limited access to food and medicine.
Less than half the country's medical facilities are currently functional.
