US Trade Tensions: Canada announces billions in retaliatory tariffs on US imports

Trade tensions with the United States continue to mount globally. Russia is the latest to file a World Trade Organization challenge. And, Canada says it will not back down after unveiling its own duties, in response to the US's steel and aluminum tariffs. They take effect this weekend - while next week the US and China are set to impose their latest tariffs on each other. CGTN White House Correspondent Nathan King has the details.  
NATHAN KING WHITE HOUSE "As I expected, Canada are unveiling fully 12.5 billion dollars worth of tariffs on US goods. They are willing to negotiate but will stand firm."
CHRYSTIA FREELAND CANADIAN FOREIGN MINISTER "We will not escalate, and we will not back down. The solution to this unprecedented dispute is for the United States to resend its tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum, which do not pose any kind of security threats to the United States."
Friday is also the day US to unveil its plan to a Chinese company, trying to access technology, also export controls.
NATHAN KING WHITE HOUSE "But remember, a week from this Friday, tariffs would be imposed by the US on 34 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods and 25% of tariffs. China on Friday also say they reject any US's blames that China's economy is not open enough or their reform pace being too slow."
LU KANG CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY "China will continue to support and participate in the economic globalization, in accordance with the established pace of reform and opening-up. China welcomes investors from all over the world to enjoy the result of its development."
