Brazil's federal police force said Tuesday it has found strong evidence President Michel Temer received bribes to help businesses.
In a preliminary report published by Brazil's top court, federal police investigators said they have enough evidence of bribes being paid to warrant a formal investigation of Temer for "passive corruption."
An investigation regarding whether president Temer has accepted bribes and obstructed justice is underway, the federal police force said as it would submit concrete evidence and conclusions regarding those crimes to the Supreme Court by next week.
Temer's attorney has asked to look into the investigation materials.
