Zhaozhou Bridge is China’s oldest bridge and the world's oldest open-spandrel segmental arch bridge made of stone.
Built between 595-605 during the Sui Dynasty, the bridge is located in northern Hebei Province and has been subject to natural and man-made damage for more than 1,400 years.
Dedicated an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1991, the bridge has just undergone a major facelift to restore it to its former glory.
