Half of likely voters in the United States approve of the way President Donald Trump is handling the presidency, while 49 percent say they disapprove, according to right-leaning Rasmussen Reports’ daily Presidential Tracking Poll.
The poll, released on Monday, showed that 33 percent of respondents strongly approved of Trump’s job performance, while 39 percent strongly disapproved.
The results follow a series of shakeups within the Trump administration, including the departures of former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, former National Security Adviser H.R McMaster and former Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin.
The poll was conducted among 1,500 likely voters with a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points on a three-day rolling average basis.
Last week, a left-leaning CNN poll conducted by SSRS found that the approval rating of Trump had rebounded to its highest level since the 100-day mark of his presidency, despite negative ratings on his handling of major issues.
Overall, 42 percent said they approve of his performance in the White House, with 54 percent saying they disapprove.
Approval was up seven percentage points since February, including an increase of six percentage points among Republicans (from 80 percent to 86 percent) and seven percentage points among independents (from 35 percent to 42 percent).
Trump’s approval rating remains below that of all his modern-era predecessors at this stage in their first term, despite trailing Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama by a narrow four points.
