In March this year, Xiamen Airlines began to recruit attendants among residents in southeast China island region of Taiwan. To meet the need of expanding airline stewardess, the candidates should be able to speak fluent English. /CNS Photo

After a comprehensive assessment, 60 candidates were chosen. First group of 34 candidates left for Xiamen to receive training in August. /CNS Photo

The training includes etiquette, knowledge of airborne equipment, first-aid skills including bandaging, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
