Foshan, a manufacturing city in south China’s Guangdong Province, is welcoming 650 international exhibitors at an expo named Internet+ powered by CEBIT, which kicks off on October 12.
Intelligent manufacturing is the keyword of the expo. Some of Germany's leading manufacturers bring their state-of-the-art robots and mechanical arms, under the framework of the country’s “Industry 4.0” plan. Because of their accuracy and efficiency, these industrial robots are widely used in Chinese factories.

Robotation Academy Foshan announced its official opening and revealed a demonstration production line of intelligent manufacturing.
However, this is no traditional school. This Chinese-German collaboration will integrate resources serving robotics companies around the world, and bring new German techniques to China.
"Foshan is a manufacturing base in southern China," Wei Wei, CEO of Robotation Academy Foshan told CGTN. "The city's pillar industries include household appliances, ceramics, machinery and automobiles. Factories in these areas urgently require an automation reform. We hope to help them improve production techniques and management to reduce costs and raise efficiency."

China and Germany are the world's industrial powerhouses. China initiated its plan of "Made in China 2025," aiming to push forward automation and industrial upgrading.
"We’d like to introduce here in China the advantages of robotics," Said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Messe AG. "I’m convinced that the industry in southern China will profit a lot from this approach, that’s important for the industry here."
The event will run until October 15. Apart from robotics, the expo is also focusing on other up-and-coming areas like cloud computing, big data, smart cities, and Internet plus finance, etc.
