Caroline Power, the photographer, described these images as "devastating." She has been dedicated her career in underwater photography, according to The Telegraph.
The massive area of floating waste is mainly consisting of plastic made bottles and cutleries, and the explorer said they had to sail over 5 miles to cross the polluted area.

“There was also a seemingly infinite number of plastic forks, spoons, drink bottles, and plates. There were broken soccer balls, toothbrushes, a television, and so many shoes and flip-flops,” she told The Telegraph.
Plastic pollution can affect lands, waterways and oceans, as well as marine animals. They might swallow these plastic wastes or trapped in them.
