Led by key party official Kim Yong Chol, an eight-member delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has crossed the inter-Korean border and arrived in the Republic of Korea (ROK) for Sunday night's PyeongChang Winter Olympics closing ceremony, according to Yonhap. The DPRK delegation will remain in the country for three days.
It’s the second high-level government delegation dispatched by the DPRK during the Winter Games.

The first DPRK delegation was in PyeongChang for the opening ceremony on February 9, and later met with ROK President Moon Jae-in, where the delegation extended an invitation for Moon to visit Pyongyang at the earliest possible date.
The delegation included a group of high-level DPRK leaders, including Kim Yo Jong, the sister of its top leader Kim Jong Un and Kim Yong Nam, the ceremonial head of state.
Although Kim Yo Jong passed on an invitation from her brother to invite President Moon for a Pyongyang summit, Moon did not say yes immediately and instead, saying the right conditions needed to be created.
Just five days ago, United States State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said US Vice President Mike Pence and DPRK officials had planned to meet secretly during the Olympic Games, however, the meeting was called off by the DPRK at the very last minute.
"We regret their failure to seize this opportunity," Nauert added.
