Welcome back to global watch. To the US, where the suspect believed to be behind 5 consecutive bombings in Austin, Texas has killed himself in an explosion as police moved in on his location. Jay Gray has more.
The focus of the investigation has shifted to Pflugerville now. Police and federal agents searching the home of suspected serial bomber Mark Anthony Conditt.

It happened overnight in round rock, just north of Austin--as Conditt was cornered by police.
CHIEF BRIAN MANLEY AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT "As members of the Austin police department swat team approached the vehicle, the suspect detonated a bomb inside the vehicle."
Exclusive information obtained by NBC News outlines how investigators tracked down the 23-year-old, what federal agents call "exotic" batteries ordered online from Asia, tied the attacks together. The cell-site analysis helped them learn Conditt's phone number - he used his cell hours before police closed in.
And this surveillance video of Conditt wearing a hat and wig. Allowing police to conclusively determine he was the prime suspect.
In a string of bombings over three weeks that killed two and injured 4 before the blast that apparently killed Conditt inside this SUV along Interstate-35.
As the search for clues continues. There is still a concern.

A bomb dog searched his parents home.
