A network connecting an old train system with modern rail has been launched between the southern Xinjiang railway and the Lanzhou-Xinjiang High-speed railway. Trains on the high-speed line can go much faster and hence cut travel time. The railways transfer passengers shuttling between the two lines at a designated speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
