China has made legislative efforts in improving wild animal protection and the welfare of farm animals, said Wang Chaoying, deputy head of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee's Legislative Affairs Commission. He also noted that China has the social consensus of loving and protecting pets, but related legislation needs further study and discussion.
