China shows respect for Kenyan people's election choice

China on Tuesday voiced its respect for the Kenyan people's choice in the presidential election.
"China and Kenya are good friends, good partners and good brothers. We fully respect the choice made by the Kenyan people in the election," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said during a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday,
"We sincerely wish all parties in Kenya to think from the country and people's interests, to maintain restraint and properly solve differences and maintain national peace and stability."
Kenya's election commission announced on Monday that Uhuru Kenyatta has been elected as president in the presidential election re-run.
Kenya held its first election in August, which was annulled by the Supreme Court due to "irregularities and illegalities."
