Three scientists from Singapore, Norway and Japan have received the Chinese Academy of Sciences Award for International Cooperation. The prize commended them for their long-term contributions to Sino-foreign research collaboration. CGTN's Feng Yilei reports.
The 2018 Award for International Scientific Cooperation of China's national natural science research institute goes to three foreign scientists.
Physicist and educator Shih Choon Fong, promoted education internationalization and a cross-national coalition to offer green energy solutions.
Biologist Nils Christian Stenseth, who enhanced CAS's research capability in biological disaster control.
And hydro meteorologist Toshio Koike, offered the Chinese side funding, technology, equipment and long-term observation data of the Tibetan Plateau.

The award winners said they are impressed by China's efforts in supporting basic science and young talent training. And they also benefit from the data and insight from the reciprocal collaboration.

This year's award signals the Chinese institute's determination to ally scientists around the world to address common environmental problems and climate change with advancing scientific approaches.
