China will step up its targeted poverty alleviation efforts to further reduce the poor rural population by over 10 million, including the relocation of 2.8 million people from inhospitable areas, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday. Li made the remarks while delivering a government work report to lawmakers during the opening meeting of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), China’s top legislature.
