Chinese scientist Zhang Miman has received the 2018 L'Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science Award. She received the award for her pioneering contributions in understanding the way vertebrates adapted to living on land.
The 82-year-old is a professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology in Beijing. According to the awards' organizers, her achievements have offered China the opportunity to establish itself in the field of paleontology, and her work is encouraging to the future generations of imminent scientists.
