China's ambassador to UN warns of Korean Peninsula tensions

China's Ambassador to the United Nations Liu Jieyi has warned of "disastrous results" if tensions on the Korean Peninsula get out of control.
Liu said China has three priorities regarding the DPRK nuclear issue: denuclearization, peace and stability on the peninsula, and a solution through dialogue.
Liu pointed out that current tensions on the peninsula are high, and if no effort at de-escalation is made, sooner or later the status quo will break.
