Founded in 1983, the Hong Kong Painting and Calligraphy Club now has over 400 members including present and retired police.
Alice Lee, chairperson of the club, says art is a way for them to relax and balance work and life.
Over 50 Hong Kong police traveled to Beijing for the exhibition, among whom is Huang Heiman, honorary vice president of the Hong Kong police painting and calligraphy club. He brought a painting created in 1993, four years before Hong Kong's return.
"I painted it to welcome Hong Kong's return to the motherland in 1997. I chose this painting for this exhibition because I think it is memorable," Huang said.

The four-day exhibition was opened to the public from October 18 to October 21. Visitors were amazed by the artworks. "I'm very happy to see these high-level works. I hope I can bring back traditional Chinese culture to Hong Kong and share them with young people," said Zion Choi, vice president of HK Innovision.
A commemorative envelope was also released by the China National Philatelic Corporation specifically for this event.
