China’s National Meteorological Center (NMC) on Sunday renewed its yellow alert for rainstorms as downpours from Typhoon Khanun are forecast in southern China from Sunday to Monday.
Typhoon Khanun, named after a Thai fruit, is moving northwest near coastal areas of south China’s Guangdong and Hainan provinces at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.
It is expected to strengthen and make landfall in the southern provinces early Monday.
