China Economy: Statistics on economic growth released for first half of 2018

The Chinese economy maintained steady growth in the first half of 2018. The State Council Information Office held a press conference this morning, which saw the National Bureau of Statistics release details on the country's economic development.
6.8 percent, that's the year-on-year growth rate of the first half of the year. The figure has stayed in the targeted range of 6.7 to 6.9 percent for 12 consecutive quarters.
MAO SHENGYONG, SPOKESMAN NATIONAL BUREAU OF STATISTICS "Generally speaking, the national economy in the first half of the year maintained the momentum of steady and sound development with increased favorable conditions to support the economy towards high-quality development."
Among the key figures unveiled, the following stand out:
The national per capita disposable income saw an 8.7% nominal growth, and a 6.7% real growth year-on-year. The human resource market also remains stable.
The surplus of imports and exports of goods was narrowed and trade structure continues to be improved. The total value of trade increased by 7.9%, exports up by 4.9 and imports 11.5%.
National per capita consumption expenditure grew by 8.8%. While investment in fixed assets was up by 6%.
The statistics authority then gave a suggestion for the second half of the year.
