EU-Turkey Meeting: Failure to reach concrete solutions in talks aimed at patching up relations

European Council President Donald Tusk says the EU and Turkey have failed to reach any concrete solutions or compromises in talks on Monday aimed at patching up tattered relations.
Tusk made the comments after meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Bulgarian city of Varna. The bloc vowed to keep funds flowing for a refugee deal with Ankara, but disappointed Turkish demands for deeper trade ties or visa-free travel to Europe. Meanwhile, EU leaders left the door open to Turkey's stalled membership bid to the bloc, but said Erdogan has to remove obstacles to accession.
