Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy on Wednesday challenged lawmakers to table a no-confidence vote as he answered questions over alleged illegal financing of his conservative People's Party.
“There is no impunity in Spain, institutions work, control mechanisms warn us and irregularities are sanctioned where they must be sanctioned,” Rajoy said.
Rajoy, however, did not directly address the allegations about his party. He said he's given explanations to parliament related to corruption cases on 52 occasions and two commissions had been set up to look into accusations.
