Two Chinese giant pandas on Wednesday began their journey to Indonesia where they will live for 10 years, bringing along tons of bamboo to keep them fed on their journey.
To ensure that the two pandas will arrive at their destination and adapt to the new environment smoothly, both China and Indonesia have made full preparations.
Before receiving the pandas, Indonesia spent two years growing bamboo in local areas. A total of 16 kinds of bamboo have been successfully grown, enough to feed these two national treasures.
The Conservation and Research Center quarantined the two pandas ahead of their departure and carried out regular physical examinations.
Moreover, an experienced feeder and a vet are accompanying the pandas on their journey to take care of the giant pandas with Indonesian experts until the pandas get used to their new home.
China and Indonesia have been carrying out "Panda Diplomacy" since 2013.
