SCO Cooperation: 2018 military music festival held in Beijing

A grand military music event has been held outside China's national stadium in Beijing. Over 400 performers from eight military bands played in this year's Fanfare for Peace. They all come from Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries. Our Zheng Yibing has the details.

This year's military music festival of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is being held, on the sidelines of the SCO defense ministers' conference in Beijing. More than 400 performers are in attendance, including old friends and new members.
CHENG DAMING CHINESE MILITARY BAND "This is a good chance for all of us to get together."
COL. ASHISH RANJAN INDIAN ARMY MILITARY BAND "The Chinese band conductor who is standing and directing all of them is connecting to them in the language of music which is understood by all the musicians of all the eight different countries represented."
MAJ. SAITJANOV BAKNITYOR UZBEKISTAN MILITARY BAND "I feel so happy that we come to China to attend the event and see each other so close."
This year's festival kicked off for the first time on China's Great Wall. That was on Tuesday evening, with the SCO military bands staging a group performance, as well as individual ones with their own styles. Now, it presents a grand tour in Beijing's north axis, with thousands of people observing. Audiences are impressed.

This is the fifth SCO military music performance since 2014. The organizer said the tradition will be passed on, as a symbol of friendship.
