In South Africa, the city of Cape Town has had to contend with yet another environmental dilemma, as a result of the ongoing drought. Over 70 firefighters and 3 water-bombing helicopters battled a huge blaze on the slopes of Table Mountain over the weekend. The water bombers zoned in on an inner city reservoir and drew over 10-thousand liters of water with every swoop. The team worked throughout the day to control the inferno, which also resulted in the evacuation of some residents. A strong wind has fanned the fire, which is usually common during the dry summer season.
