All four living former South Korean presidents have now been convicted or embroiled in criminal inquires. Prior to Park Geun-hye's conviction, South Koreans witnessed another fall from grace -- Park's predecessor, Lee Myung-bak. Lee was arrested over a string of corruption charges surrounding his suspected ownership of a lucrative auto parts company. Two other former presidents, Roh Tae-woo and Chun Doo-hwan, stood trial in the mid-1990s. Roh was charged of amassing slush funds with bribes from local conglomerates, while Chun was indicted over offences such as masterminding a military coup. Both, however, were pardoned in 1997.
