There's a high possibility that Melbournians could be boarding a train to Westeros, Winterfell, or any of the seven kingdoms for that matter, if Game of Thrones fans have their way.
The Victorian state government in Australia revealed that five new railway stations will be named through a public vote, and it looks like places from the hit book series and TV phenomenon Game of Thrones were front-runners to be selected.
Game of Thrones author George R. R, Martin reacted to the news in a blog post declaring he was "flattered." The popularity of the series around the world has caused many to suggest place names from the series should adorn the city's new metro stops.
He said while some place names suited metro stations better than others, he threw his support behind "Station McStationface" after the "Boaty McBoatface" episode which occurred in England earlier this year.

"Melbourne, as it happens, is adding five new stops to its Metro, and in a fit of jolly Aussie optimism they have asked the public to suggest names for the new stations. And it would seem that names from my books are among the leading contenders," Martin wrote.
"Highgarden, the Eyrie, Dorne, Westeros ... well, some names are more apt than others, admittedly, but all of them beat Station McStationface, which I fear will be the ultimate victor given the results of other recent 'Name That Thing' balloting."
The author admitted that "Winterfell" would be a good fit for a train station name - except for the fact that winter "never comes" in Australia.
"The idea of a Melbourne Metro Station named Winterfell tickles my fancy ... though, having been to Australia numerous times, I will assert that winter never really does come down there," Martin joked.
Entries for the "name the station" competition close on October 22.
