A utility tunnel crossing two running subway lines was recently finished in Jiangsu Province. It's the world's first utility tunnel to accomplish the feat. The tunnel was made using a 300-ton tunnel boring machine. The distance between the tunnel and the subway is just 4.356m, while the distance between the tunnel and the road is just 4.859m. This utility tunnel is expected to be put into operation before 2018.
